Birmingham is a city with a huge number of assets; its economy is steadily growing; flagship projects have helped to raise the profile of the city; it has a vibrant, young and cosmopolitan population; there are strong centres of research and education, and good transport connections. But there are a great many issues and opportunities that need to be considered and addressed as part of the Big City Plan.
