Birmingham should become the focus for creative industries to rival those in other cities.

Plain English Translation

We think that Birmingham should be a centre for creative industries (such as art, design, and publishing) that is just as good as other cities.

  1. I prefer the phrase “rival other cities” to “just as good as”. Whilst 'just as good' feels a little half hearted.

  2. Why settle for “just as good” or even rival? Why can't we strive to be a centre of excellence that other cities envy? We have fantastic universities and brilliant pockets of creative industry and we have enough talent in the city to achieve amazing things if only we believe in ourselves. It's time Birmingham brushed that chip off it's shoulder and stopped feeling like we have to match up to cities like Manchester and Liverpool. Sod that we're the second city, they should be striding after us!

  3. Agree, better than others not just catching them up! Hopefully encouraging this very broadly, helping all those who want to develop creative skills and industry, not concentrating only on small insider groups or only the young.
